When it got hit from behind >>> Posted by RS [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Yeah, it's a pity that they can't administer ..., AlexA, Fri, 20 Aug 2004 08:39:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was able to drive it home and continue using it. But I felt sick every time I looked at the wrinkle above the fenders. The shifter alignment was screwed up a bit because I had my hand on it when it was hit. I jacked it up and aligned the shifter a few weeks later.
The doors were OK - so I got off easier than your brother did. I figure that, when mine got hit, the girl was going between 5 and 10 MPH. She was yakking with her passenger, accellerating, and somehow didn't see this car in front of her. It was an older Toyota Corolla, too. She probably had less mass than the one that hit your brother, as well as going slower.
I'd planned on taking it to a shop and having the body pulled back to remove the wrinkle, but didn't get a chance to because it was totalled out by a semi 5 months later. (ATL is a tough place to keep a car.)
