First of all, very sorry to hear about the accident. I'm glad your bro is alright. Second, exact same happened to me and my '88 SPG.

Here's what happened to me aftermath. Insurance adjuster valued the car at $1200. I had bought the car for $3000 one month earlier. It was a sweet tuned car, but high mileage. Anyways, I argued until they brought the value up to $2700. Then i had an option to buy it back for $300. I figured parts alone would be $600 - 700. So I bought it back and it is now used as parts car. BTW, the dealer estimated the damamge to be $6000. So no brainer there. I figure insurance adjuster will appraise yours at around $3000, given mileage and condition. Like RS said, don't settle until they give you at least $5000, as that will be what is required to truly replace a good running '90 red SPG. Also, if you can show ANY receipts for work done on it last 1 year, that will help. I didn't go to hospital, as I felt fine (hurt my feeling more). I gave insurance a break...

It always irks and bothers me that idot drivers in this world cannot leave us C900 drivers alone!
