Got trouble-shooting skills?
Look at your starter. There will be a thick cable - the other end of this connects to the battery. The provides the juice to actually spin the starter and the engine. Note this is always hot.
There is another wire about 12 guage. Pull it off and put a voltmeter or test light in the end. Move the key to "Start". This wire should be hot only when the key is in start.
If there is no power when the key is in start, work backwards towards the ignition switch. If there is 12 volts, suspect the starter.
Take a 6 foot long piece of 10 guage wire and crimp on a female terminal. Put the terminal end on the starter where you pulled the wire from. This is actually on the solenoid. Brush the other end of the wire to the positive terminal of the battery. If the starter does not spin, it is time to take off the starter. You could rebuild the starter if you are on a tight budget, or you could find a rebuilt unit.
