Worth is what you're willing to pay for it; after that, it's worth is what someone else is willing to pay for it. As long as there are other folks out there willing to pay extra bucks for a CE, it'll be 'worth' more. But only if you sell it.
However, there are a lot of 'limited edition' cars out there that don't command a premium. And for a CE convertable, don't buy it because it'll be worth more. Cars lose money, and not only is the pool of folks you can sell a 10 year + old Saab CV to small, the number of folks willing to pay extra $$ for a CE is even smaller. And no, this isn't a Ferrari, so it's value is never going to go up.
If you think the extras on a CE are cool and want to spend the extra $$, then go for it. However, I will ALWAYS take condition into account. If the CE is going to take lots of money to get it into the same condition as a nicer non-CE, then that CE just got expensive. And since we're talking about a 10 year old car, how expensive it's going to be is very dependent on how it's been taken care of. A car that's in good shape now has most probably been taken care of - that's your best defense against future failures. A car that hasn't had the best of care will be very expensive to get into shape, and will experience more failures in the future.
First and foremost, find a car in good shape, that's been owned by a fanatic about maintenance. Make sure you get complete service records. Don't take someone's word for it that they changed the oil monthly with Fresh-Sqeezed Mobil 1. Those cars are harder and harder to find, but well worth it. If you want a CE, it'll narrow the field even more, but be patient.
Beware of a pretty car with a numbered plaque on the dash, and a puddle underneath.
