Instrument Panel Issues (LONG)

I have a '89 900 Turbo with a few instrument panel light problems. Only one of my dash lights come on. I switched the bulbs, and they are not the problem. It looks to me as if the thin conductive surface has worn through. I have seen post of using JB weld to fill in, but when I tested the conductivity of JB weld I did not get any resistance.
My question is, can I use the rear defrost repair kits, the ones with the copper paint, to fill in and repair my worn connections? Has anyone tried this?
Also, I have heard of using LED bulbs to decrease voltage used and increase the life of the connection, where can you get these and what is the proper bulb number (for the main dash illumination light)?
My speedometer has also gone out very recently. I have read that it is a nylon gear that wears out and cracks, makeing it only work intermitantly (the issue I currently have). Can you open it up and glue that gear on again? I don't really care if I can never reset the trip agian, just want to know my mileage. I also have an '85 900 Turbo parts car, will the whole instrument panel be interchangeable, or are the connections different. I am having a hard time finding part #'s.
Sorry for the long post, but thanks for any help.
