We use them in our reciprocating aircraft engines at all times when temperatures drop below 20 F. Our mechanics tell us that the oil does not flow properly when it is this cold and therefore contributes to premature wear of engine internals. Aircraft engines are very expensive...are we just more concerned because of that fact?
