I know a number of people who have done this with a low-mileage, good-condition front-end-hit parts car. If you have room for one, keep your eye on the swap sheets. So that's why you're looking for a rear seat!
As for the fronts, instead of pulling the entire seat, maybe replace just the leather cover(s) where they have worn. Quite a few tranny-dead or impact-damage cars have pristine, well-maintained seats in them.
The looseness in your suspension is most likely ball joints, which start to wear between 110 and 135 depending on road conditions. However, the looseness in my '92 was from after the ball joints- the aligners straightened things out in the steering column instead of spinning the tie rod ends (why???) and the steering column connection to the countershaft U-joint connection is loose. Grab the U-joint under the dash above where it goes through the firewall and move the steering wheel to check for looseness there.
