I had a very similar problem with my 1990 900s and found that the
previous owner had installed an aftermarket alarm under the rear
seat in such a way that the alarm module was sitting directly on the floor pan. The heater control valve had gone bad and let antifreeze into the interior of the car and some of it ended up in a little puddle under the alarm module and caused a short to ground. If you don't
have a meter to check for current flow you can get an led and a resistor and put it between the battery and the negative battery lead and then start pulling fuses until the led goes out. Watch out for circuits like your stereo that are supposed to have minor current draws to maintain your settings. Good hunting.
