A terrible night, CV joint, bearing or what???

Hello,
I just had the worst drive in my life: 500km at night with a spare tire at the front left and a broken (probably) cv joint or bearing on the right wheel all after a sleepless night...While the spare-tire thing is not a big problem I'm worried about the right wheel. This is where I need Your help. The symptoms are:
1) can't keep the track stable, the steering wheel pulls right and left, the car sways from side to side like you were going along decent ruts, wrereas there the road is smooth
2) loud strong metalic noises (like hammering a rail) come from the front rigth wheel area, especially when turning left (then the car is moving up and down a little every turn of the wheel). The clatter as the sterring wheel "dance" gets smoother and softer when the wheels are straight and you accelerate (when you release the gas pedal or when you put the gears to neutral the symptoms are sharper)
3) The steering is sometimes very hard to move to the extreme positions, like something gets blocked.
What could that be???
Thanks for any clues.
Greets,
Pit
