The 3 bolts (actually manifold studs) are threaded into the down pipe flange. They are M8-1.25mm x 45mm long. Manifold studs have threads on both ends and a non-threaded shoulder. The shorter of the threaded ends is an "interference" thread, the longer is a "clearance" thread. To install the manifold studs I put two nuts on the clearance threaded end and jam them together and then using a wrench, tighten the nut on the end closest to the end, driving the interference end into the flange. To remove a manifold stud, I use the same procedure, except use the wrench on the other nut.
