it can be tricky too. For one thing it would help if we knew the year/model of your car. Some are located under the car while some are near the battery. I use a closed 22mm box wrench and undo the old sensor while the engine is still warm. Say 30 minutes after driving. Sometimes I've had to use persuasion to twist it free by banging on the other end of the wrench with a piece of wood (2x4), or even using a longish piece of wood against the wrench in a lever fashion to do the un-twisting. The tricky part is if the threads on the sensor shear off and remain on the manifold threads, then you have to use a thread chaser to clean the threaded hole before attempting to screw in the new one. Spray lubricant aroaund the threads before removing the old one helps avoid thread shearing. If your car has the three wire sensor, and if you want your car to run the same as previous, then it would help to replace the bad one with the same type of sensor. Otherwise it's just one wire, and connecting that isn't too difficult, even if you have to splice the two wires together. It can literally be a 5 minute job if all goes well, but if not, then you have to be prepared for anything.
