I've had it with this car. '92 900s conv.5sp. Bought it at 90K, now at 112K. In the one year I've owned it, I've done head gasket, crank pulley, water pump, cv joints, ball joints, tie rod ends, heater control valve, and the latest- steering rack and pump. Lost assist couple of months ago. R/r'd rack (Maval rebuild)- no help. Then a new pump, still not fixed. Even replaced lines and heated the u-joints on the steering column. I've been meticulous and determined. Townsend, Bentley- read every bit of advice I could find. Most of the time I still don't have PS assist, but every so often it comes back for a few minutes! Grrrr. I'm good natured, but at the end of my rope. How do you folks put up with such a s*#!!^ car? Are you just gluttons? My '92 Volvo has 250+K and it's still going strong. This Saab develops problems sitting in my shop! No wonder it gets such good safety ratings! How can you have a wreck when it's always in repair! Bet it wouldn't fare so well in a per-mile comparison with other cars. I've finally said f*%# it!- I'm driving without assist. Will the steering column break suddenly, testing out the crash protection of this rolling nightmare?
