The plastic cover is the hardest part of the job, and the secret is to realize it is deliberately made flexible and you don't have to baby it. Just rip it out - I have a buddy who once spend an hour trying to get it out unsucessfully until he got made at it and pulled it out in a minute.
Re glaze on flywheels, excellent advice - a dealer is afraid of comebacks and, since the customer is paying anyhow, it makes sense to always resurface the flywheels. But for the home mechanic who is willing to take a small risk that the job will have to be redone (and remember the second time is always much faster, especially because you won't have bothered to put all the hard-to-reach screws and bolts in) it can save a lot of time and money to "resurface" the flywheel in place. I like to use a palm sander since it is less likely to gouge than a grinder-type disk.
