1. Did the fan work normally before you rebuilt it?
2. IIRC the LH fan works off the temp sensor in the upper LH (drivers side corner). I know from replacing perhaps 3 of them, that normal failure mode results in the fans running LONG after you shutoff the engine. Can't remember the logic, but perhaps try unhooking this sensor and see if you get power on your feed to your fan.
3. Is the connection plug clean, just below the fan? I have seen these getslightly corroded, rusulting in voltage really being there, but not reading on a digital VOM. Clean the connection points & be sure about the 12V or lack thereof.
4. Try turning on the AC (snowflake) and I think you should force both fans to run...just test it and see if you get 12V.
I have not found the Bentley Bible to be wrong very often. I have done any major wiring on my 90's (I have 2 of them), but I would be a bit surprised if your fan doesn't have power because it is being told to stay OFF.
Please advise what you find.
