Chaz, That adapter is an easy solution, but a little awkward in use perhaps. But, Hubby...Chaz's Idea will work for you Safely. As a matter of fact. J.C. Whitney used to sell them, but I think they were for standard GM or Ford clips, so you'd still need to change things. I also thought about doing your second option of adding extra fabric on the feed belt bolt down end myself in the past. The plastic belt sheeth would hide the seem too. That would also work, but to add too much could end up causing problems on the belt reel itself. There isn't much clearance at all for extra belt there. Any added length, besides pushing the reel to it's limit, would be flopping down and getting close on by the door. By pushing the reel to it's limit, you may unseat the Ball and cup mechanism, rendering the auto retract or belt stop feature on impact useless. That's why I didn't go that route. As far as sewing it yourself, it is very easy. You simply need a large needle and thimble. I think the seems have 4 rows of stiching. Whatever the count is, I simply added several more rows to compensate for machine quality stitching.
