Exhaust is not 2.5 inches... but 2-3/8 -ish

All our original systems, as well as the Starla replacements, are of an odd metric size. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen "2.5" mentioned on this board when in fact that is not the correct size for OEM. Here in Detroit they call it a "ferun" something or other. More like 2 and 3/8th's" diameter.
Personal story- I lost my intermediate pipe on-back last week while driving over an ice mound left by the plows in front of my gf's driveway. The only thing still functional was the downpipe coming off the header. Car sounded like a jet plane. Swishhh. Wicked.
A temporary 2-1/4 open-ended straight pipe is in its place (all I could find here) until I can buy a new system. I kinda like hearing what the motor is doing but it is embarrasing when passing other vehicles. At least with the straight pipe now installed the interior noise is diminished, albeit a little more popping on decel.
Point is 2-1/2 inch pipe is a bit too large to fit either the OD or ID of a standard replacement tailpipe or muffler. In the past I've had to take the smaller 2-1/4" pipe and swage it open to fit the rest of the system. But this seems rather counter-productive.
So anybody have input for sourcing odd-diameter alumninzed tubing?
Regards,
Matt
