As diskullman said the pass. sides inner gets loose due to gease migration. The inner driver is a 2 piece unit with an o-ring between 2 peices. The o-ring breaks down with heat and then the grease slings out and onto the motor mount bracket. It can be seen from underneath. If you're an avid DIYer you can repack and extend the life of the metal parts. From my obseving the boots seem to last 200k or so. Some of the aftermarket boots look a little whimpey. If you have a 93 non-turbo- cooling system maintenance is critical. There are opinions that the typical green coolant is not compatible with the engine metals.
