Jonathan,
The only difference between the 16 valve turbo and non turbo engines is related to camshaft and piston assembly. The camshafts would have more overlap and the pistons will have less dish than the turbo engine. No problem, however, working a non turbo engine to 10 psi charge pressures. We had a project car that was 11.5:1 compression ratio and was at similar charge pressures. Required near race fuel to avoid detonation, however.
The B202 cylinder head gasket kits are identical for all vehicles after 1986. The ELRING kit should include head gasket, intake man. gask., exhaust man. gask, 5mm valve cover seal, and the plastic connections for your 1988 camshaft bearing cap oil delivery pipes. You should also pick up 10 cylinder head bolts for installation and the cylinder head gasket/head bolt kits should be about $75 complete (at least that's what we typically get for them).
Best of luck and regards,
GaryK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
