As far as vacuum leaks are concerned, I have checked:
ELCD, the charcoal canister
Cruise lines (cruise works)
PCV check valve
And replaced:
New AIC lines
New vacuum hose all around
ALL rubber grommets, three on the intake and one on the valve cover fitting
ALL plastic intake manifold nipples (one had a hole in it, the others were clogging and getting brittle from oil vapor exposure)
Missing nut on lower throttle body mount
Replaced AIC valve with a cleaned one from junkyard
The vac line that runs along the firewall upper clips just under the hood seam are disconnected and plugged because I know I have a leak somewhere indoors in the face or floor vents or the recirc solenoid or the distrib switch but I can't find that problem until the dash pad comes out
Everything holds vacuum with the MityVac tool except for the dash vents so I disconnected them and plugged the vacuum line with a golf tee
I still cannot find how the vacuum line gets from the engine compartment to the vac reservoir in the trunk (convertible) or if there is supposed to be another line on the second fitting on the reservoir, it's currently plugged with a rubber stopper
Does the canister itself leak, or just the fittings? My 88 had a split elbow fitting but that's it.
