One's a bolt and one's a stud, you're right on there. Also be sure the bolt behind the ashtray metal panel is out- pull out the ashtray, then pull out the four mini-torx holding the metal ashtray backing plate out, then you'll see the final bolt and extension.
As for getting that lower cover out, I've heard it is easiest to pull the bolster and center console out together, although I have not managed to do this yet. I didn't need to pull the seat, but now you know how to do it and I'm only 6 feet tall and rather flexible. Good luck!
My rant is.... You've got it easy. Convertibles have extra reinforcing steel in the vicinity of the two bolster bolts in the fender-wells. I have yet to be able to get mine out, then again, I haven't tried too hard. Fixing other things has actually taken priority over cruise and ventilation vacuum leaks for me.
