The AMMs on both cars are the same (Bosch part number stamped into the top ends in 013), so it's safe to swap the known good AMM into the other car as a test. But, just to be safe, check the numbers on the plastic cover on the AMMs.
Totally agree with Ari on the air filter and fuel filter - especially after sitting so long. I had a similar failure on my '88 900S - When the fuel filter was replaced, the problem went away.
It's also possible that the ECU (fuel injection computer) is going bad or that the fuel pump relay has badly-pitted contacts that add resistance to the fuel pump circuit, but check the other things first.
