hmmm, another question then Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Sat, 27 Aug 2005 06:49:49 In Reply to: Re: swapping inner drivers - shims tranny-specific?, RS [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 27 Aug 2005 05:35:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi Rich,
i'm actually swapping the entire carrier and driver ass'y (its easier and i have these spare trannies laying about) so in this case should i migrate the shims 'with' the transplanted ass'y?
how critical are these shims and is there any way i can measure to ensure all is well?
just over 200k km on the tranny, was from an 87 SPG. the driver itself looks like it has minimal wear compared to the one i'm changing out (broken needle bearings etc inside the driver, huge grooves on the drive sides of the running surface, etc).
thanks in advance,
Wayne
