Is the AMM the only thing that controls cold start up idle?
As some may remember from a couple of weeks ago, my 86 SPG starts okay but the idle fluctuates up and down ( sometimes stalling) until the engine warms up enough for the O2 sensor to send a signal ( I presume). I can keep it running during cold start with the throttle and it idles & runs well when the temp gauge needle is about half way to the green zone.
Replaced the AMM with a rebuilt unit - no difference. I've put in a new temperature sensor, O2 sensor, AIC valve and a new ECU with no change in the idle problem at cold start. It's also gotten new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. I've found a few cracked vacuum lines and replaced them with regular tubing. (I'm going to replace all the vacuum lines with silicone as soon as the mail comes - maybe that'll take care of it.....)
Some history on my car: I bought it new in 86 and it has 86,700 miles on it. I didn't/couldn't drive it for 5 years and am now getting it back on the road.
Sorry to bring this up again but I'm stymied...
