I assume you're talking about a gull wing MB? That was a great deal by todays standards, but 7K was a lot of money back then-a new Vette was about $5K at the time. Now if you want to talk cars you almost bought, I've got a few from the early '70s. How about a '63 Vette convertible, with 60K for $1200? Or a 1965 Porsche 356C Coupe for $1500. Or a '64 XKE convertible for $1400. Or a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger for $1200. OR a 1963 TR3B with 21K for $1400. For comparison a new VW Beetle was about $1800 at the time so they weren't quite as cheap as they sound. It's no coincident that I remember all of these cars (I can describe them all in detail)and their prices--you don't know how much I regret not buying at least one of them and hanging onto it. I don't intend to make that mistake again, I'm hanging onto my Saab convertible.
