I guess this is a question of semantics. In my mind a glue goes on "wet" and dries. When dried it forms an adhesive bond. Having removed many OEM 900 windshields I can confidently state that they are not glued in (there would be no need for the lock strip in the molding if that were the case). I suspect what you get in the kit from Saab is liquid butyl rubber aka black goop. This stuff goes on goey and stays goey, it does not cure. A calking gun tube of the stuff runs about $5 (and is way more than you would need for a single windshield). Most install horror stories are about excess goop getting on the A pillars, dash, and hood.
I seem to have a knack for taking windshields out without breaking them (and without cutting the gasket). But I have a 50% success rate putting them in, so I now enlist a professional installer.
