One major reccomendation would be to put some form of lower end reinforcement, i.e. subwoofer in trunk or upgraded to 6x9's in the rear since the stock speaker sizes do not allow for any real bass as you would find in jazz. If they have an instrument called the bass, you can bet that's going to be important in reproducing the music.
The best bet is to putin an aftermarket cd deck, 4 inch speakers in the front with bass blockers (as they are a small speaker they will distort or blow before producing any appreciable bass), separates (two peice, woofer and tweeter) if at all possible, then 6x9's in the adaptor mounts in the rear, then Bazooka's amplified sub with the internal amplifier to power your other speakers as well. This means you only have to run one set of power wires to an amp, there is no cutting to install big woofers, and almost everything can be returned to stock if you need it, except for the stock tape deck you don't have anyway...
Good luck
