The Fuel Pump is Bad Again.

I just checked it. I measured 10.5 volts at the fuel pump when it was jumpered "on" using the fuses 27 and 30. Mind you, the battery in the car is completley dead, and I was using jumper cables from another car that wasnt turned on. That might explain the low voltage.

There is a cone shaped filter on the bottom of the fuel pump. None of the parts stores Ive called have a part number for it, and the one I have has a couple small rips in it. Could this have caused my new fuel pump to fail? Little pieces of stuff getting in the pump? The pre-pump filter was replaced when I did the fuel pump originally a month ago.

I took the fuel pump out of the car. The pre-pump is working. I jumped it with jumper cables. The fuel pump is seized. Can anyone think of why it would die after driving the car once not even 3 miles, sat for a month, then dead again?
