Now that you mention the fogging, one of the posts mentions a possible leak that would affect the humidity level and prevent clearing of the screen -- that would be good to check out thoughly. I don't know if the AC kicks in on defrost like on Amereekan cars -- that helps clear it up as well.
I had difficulty in the connections of the defrost ducts in the dash. I ended up buying a length of preheater hose from Autozone of the same approximate diameter, and cut a length of about two inches and added it to the existing plastic accordian type ducting. Then I had positive flow through the vents, and the screen cleared immediately.
Today, I drove on an interstate and found that the cabin was comfortable, but if you want to really keep it toasty, then use the recirc switch to keep the warm air from mixing with the cold outside air. On the way home, it was tropical inside, and I had to turn down the temp.
