Thanks, the car is a 1986 16V Turbo. I will try to retighten the studs. It doesnt make alot of noise, just at startup, and goes away when warmed up. But the entire system is bad, including the gasket where the headpipe and turbo meet, as well as at the cat. I plan to gut the cat & replace all gaskets, but dont really want to mess with the exhaust manifold if I dont have to.

I think the cat may be clogged. I bought the car as a non-running basketcase. Car had for an undetermined amount of time been running with several problems such as bad connections on ignition module (stalled, shut off spontaneously), bad spark plugs, and then misrouted spark plug wires. I think this may have crapped out the cat.

The car is running 100 perfect now, with just a little attention. Thanks for the input. Soon another classic saab 900T will be back on the road.
