OK, I've tried searching the archives, and still not finding specifics to a few things
Front dash speaker upgrade -in my case, no speakers, so am I looking for 4" low profile speakers? Any specifications to look for? Can anyone explain -
- frequency response (45-22,000 Hz ) (Do I want higher or lower #s on this?)
- recommended power range 2-20 watts RMS (Do I want higher #s on this?)
- peak power handling 100 watts (Do I want higher #s on this?)
- sensitivity 90 dB (Do I want higher #s on this? lower?)
Prices on Crutchfield range from $30 (low end Blaupunkt) to $120 for Infinitys. Any recommendations? Should I steer clear of Crutchfields?
How do I know what depth is allowable? Lots of good stuff said about Alpine SPS-100A at $50 a pair and Pioneer TS-G1040R at $40 a pair. Any ideas?
Back shelf already has massive speakers cut into it, but they sound horrible (Could be the radio though?)
I'm looking at a Pioneer DEH-P5800MP ($200) for the new stereo(22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels). Assuming I need to replace the old speakers - 6X9s I'd assume - what should I replace them with?
I'm interested in other applications like
kick panel speakers,
tweeters in the doors
replacing my back panel with one that hasn't been cut out, and putting rear speakers out at the sides - but how do you install them??
Thanks in advance for info or leads on any of the above
