Please help me dissect a wiring diagram Posted by Saana88 [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Class, turn to page 371-17 of your Bentley 16 valve books.
This should be the wiring diagram for AC 1991-93 non-turbo.
I have removed most of the AC hardware from my 1992 S. I want to keep the AC switch from telling the LH control unit to bump up the idle when I use it to switch the second engine cooling fan on. I have jumped the two leads which used to connect to the reciever-drier, and depressing the AC dash switch shunts on the AC engine cooling fan. Component 171 is the anti-frost thermoswitch, 200 is the LH ECU, and 169 is the AC switch.
If I disconnect the anti-frost thermoswitch leads, am I correct in assuming the AC fan will still run, but the signal will not reach the LH control unit, so my idle speed will not increase, or is there more to the wiring than what is pictured in this diagram?
I'm still trying to get at that thermoswitch. I can see the capillary tube coming through the air intake box and the bolt head threaded through, but I can't access the switch itself yet. The AC is otherwise dead, so I figure I can't do any harm, but this wiring setup is a little confusing. Whaddayathinks?
