One of my friends where I used to work drove down to Maryland to help one of the other offices one August. After the engineering headaches were taken care of that Friday, he and one of the guys from that office went down to the Chesapeake with a gaggle of beers and bucket of crabs for a cookout. Being responsible inebriates, they cleaned up after the crab-bake and put everything, including the broken shells in the car. Then they forgot about it for the rest of the weekend.

Did I mention it was August in Maryland.

The fellow from MD had to drive it to his fiancee's place in the rain that Monday. I don't think that car would have been descentable.

(Sort of like the urban legend about the NYS DEC inspector who liked to pick up roadkill in his state-issued car as specimens for his taxidermy hobby. They laid him off one clear, hot summer day, and wouldn't let him go get his stuff out of the car. So the raccoon he'd just picked up was left to mature in the back of the car. The car sat for a month before somebody needed to use it. Nuff said, eh? The guys I knew from the DEC swore that it was true.)
