Wanna cap a brake line: Wots the threading on brass?

Need to pull lines/calipers apart extensively at the front but don't want/have time to re-bleed the entire system from master cylinder out.
ALL I WANT TO KNOW is how to specify the size/threading of those brass line fittings so I can ask around for a female end cap to seal off the metal line just inside the engine bay while I clean calipers and attempt to crack my crusty, rusty, swelling rubber hoses loose from the brass elbows that bolt to and pass thru the body. It'll probably take some chemicals and a vise, so I'll need lots of time with them without having to worry about my M/C reservoir draining out.
Searching this BB has thus far only led me to the suggestions addressed below:
-My brake fluid is plenty fresh and clean already: Don't tell me to drain/refill/rebleed the entire system, that's what I don't have time for and am trying to avoid repeating.
-I've already read about plastic wrap/rubber bands and golf tees/various wooden plugs. Not interested. Those sound neither secure nor clean enough. Don't tell me to use those either. I want a better solution: My Saab deserves it, doesn't yours?
-I cannot "just do it quickly" to limit the amount of brake fluid spilled: The only place I have to work on my car is in my friends' unpaved garage, which is near their well... And they and I are happy to answer to "tree-hugging environmentalists" so we all agree on a zero-tolerance policy for fluid spills beyond the random drips of motor oil: Everything that comes out of my car is either caught in a bottle, bucket, or rag and disposed of elsewhere. Hell yeah it's a PITA...
SO, if you want to reiterate a debate on other methods of stopping a brake line, please do so in another thread:
I just want brass fittings. Assuming that they are used for more things than just this car's brakes would suggest that somewhere a full assortment of plumbing pieces are made to their standard, including female end caps. Or Not, concievably... Anyone know for sure?
TIA.
