I use amsoil air filter, bypass oil filter, and screw-on oil filter.
None to maybe a 1/2 quart oil usage in 10K miles with 280K on car, engine rebuilt at 192K (rings, bearings, seals, head left alone) with 15W40 amsoil marine/diesel synthetic. I change out the bypass filter every other oil change or 20K miles.
The reason I picked 10K as the oil change is because at around 12K the carbon particulate percentage graph vs mileage took a knee/elbow UP. At around 15K the percentage was around 1.5% and I just didn't want to fool around with wear on turbocharger seals on an engine running big injectors and 18psi boost. Your mileage may vary...but you shouldn't pick an extended oil change interval (especially to 1 yr/25K, which by the way also involves a six month/12K filter change and oil make-up) on a turbo engine without running an oil analysis along the way. Once you baseline YOUR engine then knock yourself out. If you don't want to go with the oil analysis, I'd stick with 10K. All bets are off on older engines...read the info on flushing or early oil changes when switching to synthetics.
