RS,
Here's what I've got so far.
I've ripped off the front ends (radiator, crossmember, bumper) of both my driver and the parts cars.
After removing more hoses than I thought, I finally got the plastic housing off that protects the clutch.
Here's the semi-scientific test I ran. I watched as my dad pressed in the clutch and held it in. After anywhere from 2-5 seconds, the slave (piston?) starts to recede back in, and after about 30 seconds it is fully seated as if the clutch had not been pressed in at all. There is significant grime in the bottom of the housing, but I could not see an active leak (hard to tell with poor shop lights at 9PM, my halogen decided to go out tonight as well).
So I know I'm losing pressure, and I don't find leaks anywhere else, the master is fairly dry, but dirty fluid caked all over the slave. Is the slave a pretty safe bet at this point? Will a rebuild with new seals take care of the job?
Also, any tips on removing the shaft? I've read up a little on using the bolt and twist method, but any other suggestions on things to watch out for? This is my first major repair on the C900, and a lot is riding on how well I'm able to get it running, like how long I end up keeping it.
Thanks
