Reverse is not syncro, so it will never shift as well as forward gears.
Where does you clutch pedal engage? Near the floor or closer to the top?
This is an indication of how much clutch you have left, and also how much you can open the PP/Clutch disk/Flywheel combo. If you can't get them apart very much you will have a harder time shifting, both forward and into reverse.
of course Chaz will disagree, but seems to know more than the average VET.
All I can say is my last two clutch jobs gave me results as I mentioned above.
