Mechanic's diagnosis: Leaking feed hose (pump side), Pump, and a mounting bracket that's about to give way.
What I've done to date:
1. Acquired new feed hose, used pump and mounting bracket
2. Drained Power Steering system per Bentley instructions, disconnected hard junction close to right engine mount to make sure Power steering system is as dry as possible.
3. Removed A/C and Power Steering belts, removed entire A/C tensioner assembly to re-lube the idler pulley bearings
Next steps which I'm unsure of, which I need some guidance:
1. Drive the car up the ramp so that I can disconnect feed hose from pump side
2. Remove the right side engine mount limiter bracket, then the center bolt that holds the engine mount down
3. Jack up the transmission 2-3 inches with a wooden block
***This is where I am lost:
- How is the Power Steering bracket itself attached to the rest of the Engine assembly?
- From the spare I got, it looks like it's attached at 2 places. Should I start loosening stuff BEFORE I jack the engine up? Any tips on which direction to swivel out the bracket?
Thanks in advance,
Ben
