I hope you figured it out by now. I did this chore recently, so the memory is fresh. All my beneath car work is doen with drive up ramps, so for me it was a matter of sliding underneath on my back. Disconnecting and removing the hose was messy. Just is. Rags and a large bowl to catch the remaining fluid is a good thing. Because it has that curved design which traps fluid, be sure to rotate the hose to help drain it completely.

The secret to removing the bracket with pump attached I discovered was twofold: making sure the engine is lifted up on the passenger side, and disconnecting the pass side engine support bracket. To lift I used the stock SAAB sizzor jack and placed it midway along the engine length and used the head as the jack point, just below the valve cover. I used a small block of wood inbetween to keep the metal jack from damaging the head. The engine support bracket (the piece which includes the hydraulic engine mount and also attaches to the head with two bolts) has attaching points behind the engine and along the transmission/block junction under the exhaust manifold. I also disconnected the two engine mount nuts beneath the chassis so the mount would pull free with the engine bracket. With that bracket free to move aside, the PS pump and bracket slid out the back without effort.

It was a lot of uncomfortable dirty work, but not a horrible experience. I'd give it a 7.5 on the 10 scale of difficulty. I was thrilled after all that work to find the steering once again power assisted.
