The red box is a bit outside my experience. However, for comparison, with a standard APC box, high octane fuel, cool-ish temperature, low altitude, the correct spark plugs (properly gapped), and base boost set correctly the needle should reach the boundary between the yellow and red zones. That said, if any of these requirements is not met the boost may be considerably below this. I recall that driving through the desert near Las Vegas in 100+ degree heat and with less than the highest octane in the tank i could barely get 1/3 into the yellow (even with the a/c off).
