Sounds like your APC is not working Posted by Steve Schwedland [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 900 Turbo APC Tuning symptoms, Zoots Alures, Wed, 24 May 2006 19:07:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Boosting only up to mid yellow sounds like you are running at base boost and your APC system is not kicking in to increase performance. Check out the Basic Boost C900/9000 FAQ for a quick list of things to look for.
Having said that, I had a similar problem a while back when I bought my '88 900TC. The PO had put nice new Bosch plug wires on and they were allowing too much electrical interference. The knock sensor was picking it up and was then telling the APC controller to back off. You don't say what kind of "Performance wires" you are using, but I understand that there are only a few brands that have sufficient shielding to prevent this problem. Once I put a new set of Bougicord wires on, all my troubles went away.
