Someone posted about this within the last few days, though a search I just did didn't turn it up. Mentioned pinching off the hose from reservoir. And I've seen it before. You can pull the guts out and leave cylinder bolted to firewall and to line to clutch. If its bore is clean and not pitted, you can put new rubber on the piston and reinstall. Clutch pedal serves as lever to hold the guts in while you fiddle the circlip back into its groove.
Haven't tried it but I'm for it.
