You don't say what year, but with the older models, a lot of ground problems originate at the tail lights, including dash issues. What happens is water leaks past the trunk and tail light seals then flows down across the circuit boards inside the light assembly causing rust and corrosion to weaken the ground connections. I had several wierd dash and radio related issues until I took my tail lights apart and cleaned away all corrosion, scraped all connection points to fresh metal, lubricated, reassembled, then resealed with silicone sealant. No more problems. A direct ground wire run from the light circuit board to the trunk chassis is also a good fixit for many ground issues.
