Yes, look for those things, but if those types of things concern you, you might want to consider another winter beater. SAAB essentially built the same car for 15 years, for better and for worse, depending on your perspective. I'm not sure its fair to call those things faults, considering the age of even a '93. But if you're mindset is that used cars shouldn't need major repairs, this is not the ride for you.
Point is, with the exception of the block itself, you will be replacing major components on a car of that age/mileage. And the list is considerably longer than those you mention, and they're not faults, they're just old, worn out parts. Some parts probably wear out sooner than comparable parts on other marques, but C900s' longevity has as much to do with enthusiasts' willingness to keep them running as it does a bulletproof block.
I have two SPGs, an '86 and a '91, and they average about $250/month combined in repairs/maintenance. But that can come in punishing $1000+ installments from time to time, especially in the first year or two of ownership. Personally, I'd take that $250 over a Honda or VW car payment any day. To say nothing of an "SUV." But not everyone wants an ownership experience like that. So, if you can deal with components wearing out, your real priority should be how well the car was maintained previously and the amount and location of rust. Everything else is replaceable (and often upgradable).
