The question is how far into it do you go. I am for sure going to replace all 4 ball joints. But the question is should I replace the upper arm bushings. This is the biggest difference in price between Poly($109) and rubber ($6). The lowers I will swing for poly($40ish) unless their is wisdom against it. The swaybars will get poly as well.
As for tools.... it sounds like a shop press or a vice is in order. Of course I do not own either......but Anything else?
