From what I read, you have not removed the input shaft. But, I believe first that you need to get a spacer for the pressure plate fingers prior to attempting removal of the slave. This spacer can be homemade from plug wires or thick copper wire or spend twenty dollars to buy one! Make sure you leave some kind of tab on the spacer to pull on once you have installed the slave when releasing the pressure plate fingers. Hope you have a Bentley or go to one of the DIY sites to go through the process.

Once the spacer is in place, the pressure plate is compressed enough to slide the slave out. Now, you will need to slide out the input shaft. Pop off the wire keeper on the front of the primary -- I trust you have the cooling fan removed. Carefully remove the primary cover plate and make sure no debris migrates into the case. Take off the "spinner". a plastic oil slinger -- it screws out. Then get a proper sized bolt/washer/spacer combination to screw into the input shaft and gently advance the bolt so that it pulls the input shaft out. It can be pulled back far enough to clear the slave, and then it can come out. If you go to all this extent, make sure you replace the input shaft seal -- it is not expensive, and would be the perfect time to renew the seal.

I would read and reread the Bentley, and a DIY website info on changing the clutch -- make sure you take all the precautions they point out so that you don't disable your ability to reassemble the slave into this tight spot.

Another trick is to make sure that the master is OK at this time as well. I would vacuum bleed the master with a mityvac, pulling all the dirty fluid out of it before you reinstall the new slave. Then you would be putting clean fluid into it rather than old and dirty that is probably resident to the master. Otherwise, when you bleed the slave, all the contaminated fluid goes through the new slave.

By the way, the hacksaw is not part of the required tools for this job, but you may need a propane torch - "hotwrench" - to help get the input shaft seal removed.

Firstaid kits are a must, and lots of painkillers for your back.

Good luck!
