HELP!!!!
Last week, I had a used engine put in my 1992 900S. I drove it twice in the past week (under 100 miles) and everything was fine. But two days ago, while going into first at a stoplight, the car made a thud and died. From then, the car turns over, but won't completely start. I towed the car to the shop that did the engine work and they said the timing chain had skipped. There is likely damage to the heads and it might be so bad that I'll need a new engine. They insinuated that poor shifting was to blame. I'm on my 4th Saab 900...and I know how to drive them.
So what do I do? this has been my Saab repair shop for years and I think that they should be liable for the repairs. My question is, does the timing chain come w/ the engine? or if it's the old timing chain, should they have let me know it was bad?
