I've done this twice ( cutting thru the slave) due to failed hydraulics, once with a hacksaw and once with a Sawzall. I did later see the trick refered to above (Spacers) and wish I seen it first, it would have saved a lot of mess and hard work. Another post suggested a fix for failed hydraulics using
a grease gun and a spare bleed fitting to force the slave out into the pressure plate fingers to compress them enough to insert the spacer tool. I would definately try the spacer trick it sounds easy and reasonably safe if done with some caution. Another great trick for getting the special tool into a new pressure plate involves using your car's jack and the weight of the car as a press to
compress the fingers.
