You've got the power to work,,,good. But is it grounded separately (to a bolt to the frame), or is it grounded like SAAB did it, thru the antenna?
Power to the LEDs and screen is thru the green wire I think, that is the light source for the dash lights, so when you turn on the hazard lights and interior lights, you also have the control of the stereo lights.
On 92 SAABs, as well as other years, the rear speakers are powered by a separate amp that lives below the rear seat...You cannot use this amp anymore ( I am pretty sure about that), since you are stripping the rest of the control wires to tell the amp to turn on).
You need to run new wires to rear speakers from the head unit. (PITA if you do a quality job)
IF you have problems with the front speakers, run new wires to them...I have never heard of this OE connecter thingy you speak of.
