get a cat for so cheap...
True that it's better for the environment to have a cat I'll sure reconsider my position now knowing that you can get them for not so much cash. One of the ideas behind my project is recisely to reduce environmental impact of my 99 by burning less gas more efficiently, going from about 10 to 8 liters/100km.
The main reason for not installing one was the fact that it seemed big business to fit a OEM C900 cat in a 99 under a 99.
I'll therefore welcome any other info about aftermarket cat converters in this thread, in order to make the right choice when decision/purchase time comes!
This being said, as far as switzerland is concerned, you can certainly not lose your cat if the car is equipped with one, but if you retrofit an newer engine in an older car, it is the first registration date of the car that counts, not the age of the engine...
