Been pondering this myself. Although you can get a cleaner and surface prep solution from POR 15, my understanding is that it is always best applied to rusty surfaces. So I'm unsure whether to apply POR 15 almost like touchup paint, or use another product to really coat the door. I was in my doors a couple weeks ago, scouting the same project for the spring. Its pretty cruddy and grimey at the bottom, so I'm also concerned with getting the surface sufficiently clean to apply anything. It be nice if I had a kid w/ small hands to get in there...
Also, I think the doors are almost perpetually wet inside, esp at the base, window squeegees or not (at least in the east). My drains have always been open, but that didn't stop my 86 doors from disintegrating.
